Have you ever tried to make changes in your life? Things like turning off the TV and staying off the Internet? Driving home from work a different way? How about getting up a half hour earlier than normal. These things are usually meant to get you out of your normal routine and open your eyes to the world.
If you haven’t tried doing them, you should. Take a week to try it.
If you already have, how did it work? It was pretty hard to maintain that wasn’t it? But it is the effort and the breaking of your old patterns that is important. If you commit totally and without reservation, you can overcome the obstacles with perseverance.
In my opinion, this is one of the best ways to get ready for Opportunity. Are YOU ready for it? For most, that answer is no.
For most the reason is going to be your old, limiting beliefs and habits. For instance, if you BELIEVE that you are always going to be a wage slave, you are 100% RIGHT. If you BELIEVE that you are going to find a way to create the life you dream about, you may just be right.
Whoa, whoa, WHOA! Hold it there. Whaddaya mean “may just be right.”?!
Did you catch that? You are guaranteed failure if you believe it, but are not guaranteed success if you believe that.
Why?
Because belief is NOT ENOUGH.
Now that probably smacked a few of you upside the head, but it is true. For the longest time, I thought belief was enough. It’s about 80-90%, but that last 10-20% is what gets you over the hump and into the land of success.
That last part is taking action. Simple actions. Get yourself used to doing things differently than you have in the past. Insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results. That is where I used to live. I kept doing the same things, with belief, and got the same results.
What I found was that you need to stretch yourself to be able to take advantage of ANYTHING. That is why I suggested those three actions.
Turning off the TV or the Internet forces you to find something else to do. It keeps the “Electronic Income Reducing Device” from controlling your results. If you read, you engage the mind. The neurons fire more. This is a good thing. Driving home a different way does the same thing. You have to THINK to get home. You notice things around you. That alone is the best habit to get into by the way. Notice things around you.
Finally, getting up a half hour earlier ever day also forces you to find something to do with that time. If you are chronically late, it may just mean that you get to work on time without stress. What would that mean to your life if you started every work day without that stress?
Take some new actions. Do something different. This gets you more ready for Opportunity than you can ever imagine (until it starts happening). When the old noggin starts working again and you believe in your success, things start happening. A promotion. A new job. Better relationships. A business opportunity. Going back to school. The possibilities are endless. You just cannot see them because you are mired in your old habits and beliefs.
