Baseball!

Spring Training games have begun and I am listening to the first official game between my Detroit Tigers and the infernal Baltimore Orioles.

I love baseball and I love to watch and listen to my Tigers. Spring truly is a time of hope. All teams are undefeated and anything can happen. It’s a time of possibility and potential. Players train and work hard to make the team. Most actually fall short and are either sent to the minors or leave the game entirely. Sometimes they make a comeback or try out with another team.

There’s probably almost never been a player that comes to Spring Training that doesn’t think they can contribute at the Major League level in some way. If not now, then soon. Even so, most hold onto that secret hope that they’ll have an awesome spring and make the team anyway. The idea is to MAKE the team play you because you’ve performed so well.

What an awesome philosophy that is!

I’m going to do so well that you HAVE to take notice of me and play me.

What would life be like if we lived by that philosophy in all areas of our life?

What obstacles couldn’t we overcome?

What heights couldn’t we climb?

What team couldn’t we make?
